Clare Energy has been successfully audited by Sustainability Energy Ireland. The audit was carried out by SEI Quality Manager, Conor Hanniffy, with no non-conformances highlighted. The audit was conducted on the Building Energy Rating certificates submitted by Clare Energy and is an integral part of SEI’s policy for ensuring the quality of the Building Energy Rating Scheme.

Clare Energy has been selected by Shannon Development to act on it's panel of property consultants as a Commercial Building Energy Rating Assessor.

Clare Energy has been assigned cluster leader ID 204 as part of the GHES (Greener Homes Energy Scheme). Grant assistance of €200 is available for a before and after BER and for a variety of insulation, heating controls and renewable technologies. Finance options also available. Customers benefit from econonomies of scale from the cluster arrangments. The average homeowner savings under the pilot scheme was 40% by joining a cluster. The building standard section of the Department of the Environment has commuicated to all Building Control Officers to contact Estate/Letting agents in their area drawing attention to the mandatory requirement on owners and agents in relation to BER certification of houses offered for sale or letting since 1 January 2009 and stating that the Building Control Authority expects full compliance with this regulatory requirement. County Councils are also requesting BER details on propery as part of the commencment notice stage. The Law Society has included the production of a BER as part of the conveyencing process for all properties.

Clare Energy has been selected on the GreenLoan's Scheme Management Council. The management council is made up of industry participants such as Architects, BER Assessors, Contractors, REIA Installers, and Engineers. The council members have the ability to assist the management committee on the ongoing development of the scheme and how it can be used to meet the goals of the scheme, namely, job creation on the back of Green Tech innovation, sustainability and export growth.

Clare Energy has sucessfully completed the CIBSE (Chartered Instution of Building Services Engineers)qualification competency and APEL assessment and the Low Carbon Consultant examination to qualify as a Commercial Energy Performance Certificate Assessor in the UK and Northern Ireland. (CIBSE Accreditation Number LCEA139070). Clare Energy has been contracted by Bedford Borough Council, Bedforshire, UK to act as their Commercial EPC Assessor for their portfolio of properties.

As part of the Renewed Programme for Government the Green Party has committed that compliance with BER legislation will be mandatory. "We will raise awareness of Building Energy Ratings (BER), by making it mandatory to display BERs wherever a property is advertised for sale or to let, including signage and printed/online advertising"
